No not glyphosate – mostly elbow grease. After a bit of rain (when the roots are loose) I pull out the weeds as I see them. We were lucky in that the whole house site was new clay with topsoil or gravel on top so we only have to cope with the odd introduced weeds. It’s such a nice change from Auckland kaikuyu that creeps into everything!
I’d like to prove that permaculture doesn’t have to look grungy so keeping it tidy is always in the back of my mind.

How DO you keep everything so tidy and weed free – I’ve seen the pix of your veggie planters and the paths around them and they’re immaculate
what’s the secret? (and don’t say glyphosate – please!)
