We cashed in some FlyBuys points and got a new Sunbeam coffee machine. It’s not the flashest beastie in the coffee world but it makes a reasonable cup of coffee in my amateur hands (well, compared to instant anyway). My morning ritual of coffee and date loaf keeps me sane and is a throw back to my days in a corporate environment where there was always good coffee and food nearby.

I get my beans freshly roasted from Eddie at the Masterton Farmer’s Market (no it’s not as dodgy as it sounds) and they make more of a difference to the finished coffee than my skills ever will.
