When the forecast is for gale-force winds in the Wairarapa we cop the 120km/h winds. We have the greenhouse pinned down with about 20 30cm pegs made from re-bar and only once has it looked like it was working them out of the ground in a big storm.

The greenhouse is a Fit-Lock by W A Coppins – they do a bunch of different sizes and we’ve been really happy with the performance of ours (had it 7 years and brought it with us from Auckland).

here in wellington we’d benefit from a greenhouse, but I haven’t seen any that look likely to survive the wind and the occasional late hail storm (right into December).
